3 Idiots Fame Sonam Wangchuk’s Hunger Strike: Who Inspired Aamir Khan?

Introduction: Renowned education reformist and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk has ended his 21-day hunger strike in Ladakh, marking the conclusion of the first phase of the movement. Wangchuk, whose life inspired the character Rancho in the Bollywood movie “3 Idiots”, has been leading the protest demanding statehood for Ladakh and protection of the fragile Himalayan ecology. Despite ending his fast, Wangchuk emphasized that the movement would continue with women protesters taking over the ‘climate fast’ from tomorrow.
